About Us
Committed To Medical Excellence
Born and raised in Cape Town, Dr Noordien completed her undergraduate studies in Medicine at the well-known Stellenbosch University, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in December 2011.
Thereafter she embarked upon her internship in rural Mthatha, Eastern Cape for 1 year. She completed the second year of internship at Tygerberg Hospital in 2013.
In 2014, Dr Noordien started working as a Community Service Medical Officer at the renowned Red Cross War Memorial Hospital. This is where she developed her love for paediatrics and child health.
In 2015, Dr Noordien was appointed as a permanent medical officer at Crossroads Community Clinic, ARV Unit. Over the next 2 years she honed her skills in infectious diseases focussing primarily on HIV (paediatric and adult) as well as TB.
In 2018 Dr Noordien was part of a pioneering team which implemented a full-service integration at Crossroads Clinic, where all patients, regardless of their diagnosis were managed collectively.
Thereafter Dr Noordien worked across all disciplines but found her passion to be in emergency medicine. In 2019, she took over the daily running of the emergency/casualty unit at Crossroads Clinic where she worked until her resignation in July 2024. Dr Noordien also worked at both Karl Bremmer and Victoria Hospital Thuthuzela Care Centres. She attended to victims of Gender based violence afterhours for over 5 years and in that time developed much empathy and compassion for those affected by the often deep and invasive trauma.
Tree of Health Medical Practice was established in July 2024 and was created after noting a distinct gap in the primary health care system Dr Noordien had been working in over the past 10 years. The pressures of time and resources found in public health facilities often left patients feeling underwhelmed and disconnected from their health ailments. Healthcare became almost robotic and patient satisfaction was seriously reduced. Dr Noordien has taken her passion for healthcare and created a safe and nurturing environment which prioritizes the health needs of those who need it the most. Time is dedicated to extensive health education which promotes ownership of disease and creates a beneficial relationship where patients are heard, seen and cared for.
Over the past year Dr Noordien has explored and studied the links between gut health and disease and found that there was undeniable evidence that the burden of chronic diseases largely stems from the dietary choices we make. She made it her mission to educate and uplift those around her to try and curb the spread of these often-debilitating diseases.
On a personal note, Dr Noordien is happily married with four beautiful children. She enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and spending time with her family. She has a passion for truth and believes in propagating it at all times.
